Trailer Script – First draft


Harvey walks down the pavement casually listening to music minding his own business *Medium Shot* Diegetic sound of him walking down the pavement (cars)

Harvey walks  past a couple of thugs dressed intimidatingly. Chase Harvey down the street thugs (Alsan, Rory, Allen) Dressed in hoodies – with hoods up and face covered.

Thugs follow Harvey struggles and then forcefully put a bag over his head. Harvey struggles everywhere but he is eventually subdued and is brought to  car which is shown to drive off. 

Scene fads to black. Harvey yells “what are you doing?!”

Alsan: “Get in the car!” Rory: “Move it!” Allen: “Now! Or we’ll kill you! *Fades to black*

THIS SUMMER… 2013…

*Flash into white suggest lamp on ceiling.

Harvey strapped to a chair with a man pacing around him

Harvey “Where am I?!.. WHO ARE YOU?!”
Non diegetic sound of footsteps (loud)

Alsan: “Welcome……”
Alsan: “To the agency!” (music starts again)

Harvey: “Rose?!” D: “Michael? What are you doing here?”
D: “Are you sure you want him?” Alsan: “He’s the only one stupid enough to do this”

*Training montage of Harvey* Harvey: “Hey guys, I got a solid hit this is easy” (shoots himself) Harvey: “Why do I always miss the red dot? A: “He’s perfect!”

Harvey: “Let me show you how it’s done” (shoots random person)

D: “Sir, are you sure you want him” Alsan: “He’s perfect! He is the only one stupid enough to do this”

Alsan: “Alright, here is the job, make it quick!”
Epic Shooting

Alsan: “You’re the only person who can do this” Harvey: “No!” Alsan: “You belong to us now” 
Harvey: “No!”

D: “Don’t do it Davenport” Harvey: “I have to, I’m destined to” D: “Please don’t, it’s too dangerous!”




Harvey: *finger guns* (Bang Bang) “You’re dead” (Bang) “You’re dead, you my son.. I will savour”

Film Trailer: Preliminary Planning Sheet

1. What is the Genre? Action Comedy
2. Who will be your Target Audience? How will you meet their expectations? The film trailer will be targeted at individuals who are aged eighteen and over and possibly fans of the “Bourne” franchise.
3. How big a budget does the film have?  How will the film be distributed?  How will it be promoted? The film will have a high budge. Distributed through Warner Bros and it will be promoted through print media and digital media, such as a trailer.
4. What is the Narrative of the film? Harvey is a former detective because he did things his own way. The main character is strapped to a chair and he seems to be captured for an interrogation for pursuing the antagonist, throughout the trailer he appears to have flashbacks. These flashbacks will contain adrenaline pumping action sequences such as chases on foot, explosions and shouting. There is a hint of regret throughout this trailer.
5. What is the film’s Unique Selling Point? Famous actors’ famous distributer up and coming producers.
6. What are the main events you are going to mention in your movie trailer? Chasing the antagonists henchmen, shooting in a car park, disarming a bomb, intense interrogation sequences.
7. Who are the main Characters and how are they involved? Harvey West – Michael Davenport, Dannii Cappellazzi – Rose Smith, Alsan Pagquil – David Ming
8. Which actors will play the central characters? What types of personalities do they seem to have? Michael Davenport – Main character with a knack for solving mysteries and former detective, lazy , he was kicked out of the police force for being a “smart ass”, he moves to a small town to get away from the big city environment only to discover that his new home has a dark secret. Dannii – Michael’s only friend when he moves from the city who has a very curious mind she has a lot of energy which Michael hates, she helps Michael solve cases through stupid comments she makes which somehow allow him to make conclusions. David Ming – Or “Dave” is the main antagonist of the film. He is of Asian ethnicity but has a strong British accent. Although he seems to be just another pedestrian, he is actually a genius.
9. What is the title of your movie going to be? The Daven Report
10. What is the Location/setting of your movie? The location will be set in a small isolated town. This is where Mike is taken to ensure that no one can hear his cries for help while he is interrogated by Dave Ming.
11.  What may be the central conflict or obstacle for your character(s) to overcome? Through the interrogation, Dave digs into Mike’s past bringing up all his bad memories like his mother’s suicide and his dad’s abusive behaviour. To make the situation even worse, Rose is being monitored by Dave and his goons.
12. What Pacing will your trailer have, and how will this change during the trailer? Slow then a rapid change when the protagonist is being interrogated
13. Will the trailer use a Voice Over, and who is the narrator? Yes, Robert Levett will be the narrator.
14. What Music & Sound Effects will be included? What is their effect? Pulsefire Ezreal – Riot: Non Diagetic sound. This music is highly energetic builds tension and leaves audiences guessing/wanting more.
15. What Special Effects will be included? Gunshots possibly blood
16. How will you finish the trailer so that the viewers do not know the “ending?” The duration of the movie will be in past tense, however the ending shot will be present tense, of his sitting in the chair... all questions unanswered!
17.  What is your movie tagline? All questions unanswered!
18.   What On-screen Graphics will you include and what quote(s) will you include? Reviews from magazines and newspapers that are highly respected: Quotes like – “exhilarating – a roller coaster of sensation” “a must watch” “mind blowing” “thrill-tacular”
