Magazine Process

This is the photograph of Harvey that I chose to use on my film poster for "Mean Streets":

I chose this image as I felt it would be the most effective, I really liked that he was "behind bars" I felt it would be the most effective image as it is the most "thug" like image.

With Little White Lies in mind I then went on to edit the picture and to make it into a magazine cover, below is the first draft of my magazine cover:

I wasn't completely happy with this and so I chose to change the cover.

I edited the original image until I was satisfied. I edited this photograph a total of 3 times until I was satisfied. I decided firstly that I wanted the photograph to be in black and white. I went on to edit the first photograph by simply changing the exposure and the contrast, I thought I was happy with this, however I decided to try ending the photograph in another way, which was by using a HDR effect, which I liked, however I didn't know if it was better than the first. And so I then edited the photograph again and this time I used both techniques together, and I really liked the outcome and so I chose to use the third edit for my magazine cover.

After choosing this image as the magazine cover photograph I then had to make it into a Little White Lies magazine cover. The way I went about this was by using other previous examples and using the "Little White Lies" title and then I added the title of the film, and with the use of my magazine research I decided on the writing I wanted to use.

This is my final poster design:
